System for the Future
The new over-clad roofing system is installed using a modern, plastisol coated, trapezoidal profiled steel 0.7mm outer roof sheet. None-fragile roof light assemblies can be incorporated within the roof improving the natural daylight transmission through to the working environment. At Roofing Consultants, our team will implement over-clad roofing systems to enable the safer future maintenance of each roof. Please read more about our Asbestos Roof Over-cladding services here.
What is Asbestos Over-cladding?
Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous material used in a wide range of building materials in the UK throughout the 1950s up until the 1980s. Over-cladding involves putting a new roof of metal or plastic sheets over the existing one.
Over-cladding an asbestos roof is a process that minimises the disruption at the site. In some cases, asbestos-containing materials do not need to be removed and can be over-clad instead.
This process also reduces the costly disposal of the existing asbestos roof sheeting that must be sent to a licensed landfill.
Due to their age, asbestos roofing systems may now start to deteriorate, resulting in loose, potentially hazardous materials being introduced to your working environment. This can also cause significant problems with your roof’s structure and performance.
The Benefits Of Asbestos Over-cladding
Within the asbestos roof over-cladding process, the new roofing system will be insulated to current warm roof regulations to make our clients more thermally efficient. Both the existing and new outer roof lights can be renewed within the roofing scheme to maximise the building’s natural daylight.
Benefits of Over-cladding Asbestos from Roofing Consultants:
Cost-effective – It can be extremely expensive to replace an entire roof with asbestos, whereas over-cladding is a much cheaper method of dealing with this problem.
Thermal efficiency – The over-clad method will update the roof with current warm roof regulations and allow the building to become thermally efficient.
Strength – Asbestos roof over-cladding will make your industrial building much more substantial and resistant to damage., therefore reducing the need for maintenance.
